Being Called Up To The Indonesian National Team is a Great Honor For Jay Idzes and His Family

Jay Idzes admitted that being called up to the Indonesian National Team was a great honor not only for him but also for his family.

Previously, the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, had announced the names of 28 players who would be called up to play in the match against the Vietnam National Team in the 2026 World Cup Qualification match .

There are several new faces in the current Indonesian national team squad. One of them is a defender of Dutch descent, Jay Idzes.

This is the first time Jay Idzes has been called up to strengthen the Indonesian national team. The Venezia players felt very proud and honored.

“Of course I feel very proud. This is a great honor for me and my family,” said Jay Idzes on the PSSI website.

Jay Idzes plays in the central defender position. The 23 year old player underwent an oath procession to become an Indonesian citizen last December.

Jay Idzes can’t wait to get together with the Indonesian National Team squad. Those will be special days for him.

“I’m very excited and can’t wait to meet the team. This is something I’ve been thinking about and talking about for a long time. So it’s very special,” he added.

Apart from Jay Idzes, there are several new naturalized players who have received calls. Just mention Nathan Tjoe-A-On, Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen.

The players are scheduled to gather in Jakarta starting March 17. Before that, for Jay Idzes, he still has to play the Italian Serie B match against Palermo at Renzo Barbera, Saturday (16/3/2024).

The Indonesian national team will face the Vietnam national team twice. The first on March 21 and the next on March 26, 2024.
