Harry Kane scored a total of four goals in Bayern Munich 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb. Three of Kane’s four goals came from the penalty spot. His penalty execution was perfect.
Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Bayern hosted Dinamo Zagreb at the Allianz Arena in matchday 1 of the 2024/2025 Champions League. The match turned out to be lopsided, the hosts were too strong for Zagreb.
Bayern scored a total of nine goals against their opponents, with five different scorers. The visitors did get a consolation goal early in the second half, but two goals were not enough.
Kane himself performed very well in this match. The English striker once again proved that he deserves to be called one of the best strikers in the world.
Kane scores 4 goals, 3 penalties
In this match, Kane opened his goal tap through a penalty in the 19th minute. Then he added three more goals in the second half. One from open play (57′), and two more goals from penalties (73′, 78′).
Three penalties in one game apparently pushed Kane to set a new record. According to Opta records, Harry Kane is the first player to score a hat-trick of penalties in European competition, including the Champions League.
He also became the first English player to score four goals in a single UCL match in decades.
Kane seems to want to prove that he deserves to be Bayern’s main striker. He is still hunting for his first trophy at club level.
Kata Kane
“It’s the first time I’ve had three penalties in a game. It feels different for me, but to score four is fantastic,” Kane said.
“To help the team in any way is very important, whether it’s a penalty or a normal finish, I’ll do it. It’s a satisfying night for us,” he concluded.
