Erik Ten Hag Asks MU Fans to Be Patient with Joshua Zirkzee, Why Is That?

Erik Ten Hag has made a request to Manchester United supporters. He wants MU fans to be patient and not put too much expectation on Joshua Zirkzee.

Zirkzee was Manchester United’s first signing of the summer, having been bought for a hefty fee from Italian club Bologna.

With a fairly high transfer fee, there are high expectations for the striker. They want the striker to be able to score many goals for MU this season.

However, Ten Hag believes Zirkzee still needs time to reach his best performance. “He needs to improve his performance and we have to help him,” Ten Hag opened in his recent press conference.

Still Need Adaptation

According to Ten Hag, Zirkzee still has minimal training with Manchester United. So he needs to adjust to his teammates.

“He didn’t have a good pre-season. He played in the Euros so in this pre-season he had to train alone,” added Ten Hag.

“He needs time to adapt to this team and I think it will take a few weeks.”

Adaptation Will Be Smooth

Ten Hag is also optimistic that Zirkzee will not experience any obstacles in adapting to the MU squad. He said the striker already has a lot of flying hours so he is sure Zirkzee can become a top player for MU.

“Zirkzee already has experience playing in the world’s top leagues. He has played in Belgium, Germany and Italy,” continued Ten Hga.

“He already has a lot of good experience and I’m sure that will help him at this club,” he concluded.

Debut Match

Zirkzee is likely to make his Manchester United debut tonight.

Erik Ten Hag will involve the striker in the match against Manchester City in the Community Shield.
