This season’s impressive performance has now brought Sanfrecce Hiroshima to the top of the standings with seven matches remaining in the 2024 Meiji Yasuda J1 League.
Not only did they perform well, their front line is also the sharpest in the J1 League this season.
Up until week 31, the Three Arrows Team has already scored 61 goals against opponents throughout the season. On average, Sanfrecce has scored 1.9 goals per game.
Sanfrecce are far ahead of the second most prolific team, Yokohama F. Marinos, who have “only” scored 51 goals.
After that there are Vissel Kobe (50 goals) and the duo Machida Zelvia and Kashima Antlers (46 goals).
Yuki Ohashi became the team’s top scorer with 11 goals, a record that earned him a move to Blackburn Rovers this summer.
After Ohashi’s departure, Sanfrecce did not seem to have any trouble scoring goals. Naoto Arai and Tolgay Arslan are in second place with seven goals, followed by Pieros Sotiriou who has scored six goals.
A total of 17 players have scored goals for Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
