Arsenal No Longer Naive

The victory at Tottenham headquarters last weekend showed the face of Arsenal development . Now Arsenal is no longer naive in pursuing a good game. They know how to win in various ways.

Arsenal performed well enough to steal three full points from their visit to Tottenham’s headquarters last week. The Gunners managed to get through the first tough match of the season quite well.

Yesterday’s match against Tottenham was the start of a tough schedule for Arsenal. This midweek they will play in the Champions League. And this weekend, Arsenal will face Manchester City in the Premier League.

Defensive Play, Win 1-0

Sunday, September 15, 2024, Arsenal visited Tottenham in the 4th week of the 2024/2025 Premier League. From the start, this match was predicted to be difficult for Mikel Arteta’s troops who lost several key players due to injury.

In midfield, Arsenal are without Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard. They are also without the injured Ricardo Calafiori.

Interestingly, in the midst of such difficult conditions, Arsenal still managed to find a way to win. This time, Arteta asked his squad to play defensively.

Arsenal played neatly at the back and efficiently in attack. As a result, they won by a narrow score of 1-0 through Gabriel Magalhaes’ goal in the 64th minute.

Arsenal No Longer Naive

Arsenal’s performance in winning last weekend was the sign of a champion team. They don’t have to play well. They don’t have to play beautifully all the time. The point is Arsenal are more mature now.

“We’ve criticised Arsenal a lot in the last 10-12 years for playing too loose and naive, conceding too easily,” said Sky Sports analyst Gary Neville.

“Now, we see the opposite. They are a very, very good team. A team that everyone can watch and get a lot of positives from.”
