Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka commented on his team’s decision to recruit Raheem Sterling in this summer’s transfer market. He assessed that the winger would have a positive impact on The Gunners.
Arsenal have been relatively passive throughout the summer transfer window. However, on deadline day yesterday, the North London side made a number of moves.
One of them is they managed to recruit Raheem Sterling. They borrowed the England national team winger from Chelsea for the next season.
Sterling’s arrival will have a big impact on Arsenal’s wingers, especially Bukayo Saka. Because Sterling has the potential to take his place in the 2024/2025 season.
Check out Saka’s comments on Sterling’s arrival below.
Not Scared
Saka told BBC Match of The Day that he was not nervous about Sterling’s presence in the Gunners squad.
He is even grateful that Arsenal recruited Sterling, because it means that the Gunners will be stronger in the 2024/2025 season.
“He is a great signing for our team, and I am happy to have a team-mate like him,” said Saka.
Positive impact
Furthermore, Saka said that Sterling is a player with above average abilities. He also has a wealth of experience at the highest level.
So Saka is optimistic that his compatriot can have a positive impact during his time as an Arsenal player.
“I’m sure he ‘ll do a lot of great things for this team,” Saka concluded.
Sterling’s Debut
Sterling himself was not involved by Mikel Arteta when Arsenal faced Brighton some time ago. Because it was still too close between his move to Arsenal.
Sterling could make his debut after the international break, when Arsenal face Tottenham.
