True or Not, Erik ten Hag Believes MU is a Top Four Team

Erik ten Hag firmly said that Manchester United can compete in the top four of the Premier League . Unfortunately this season MU cannot play optimally due to a storm of injuries.

This season is MU’s worst season in the modern era. The Red Devils finished in 8th place in the final standings with 60 points. These figures are MU’s two worst figures in the modern era, they should be discussed more widely.

How could 60 points not be MU’s worst points score in the history of appearances in the Premier League. Never before have they achieved such a low pound total.

Not only that, MU was only able to finish in 8th place, the lowest position in the history of their appearance in the Premier League.

Previously, MU’s worst season in the modern era was the 2013/2014 season under David Moyes, with 64 points in 7th place. Now, Ten Hag and his squad have broken this negative record.

Ten Hag Remains Confident

Finishing in 8th place should be a hard slap for the MU squad, that they are not good enough, that Ten Hag is a failed coach. Even so, the Dutch coach had another view.

Ten Hag has repeatedly said that MU’s problem is a storm of prolonged injuries. He could never field his best team, there were always important players missing.

Therefore, Ten Hag believes that MU should be able to compete for the top four under ideal conditions, namely when all the players are fit.

“We are clearly quite competitive for the top four. However, in the Premier League there are many teams currently competing for the top four,” said Ten Hag.

“Even so, we can clearly compete, and we should be able to show that this season if the players are available [not injured].”

“That’s one big thing that has to change, namely that players can play throughout the season,” he concluded.

MU in the FA Cup final

Interestingly, in the midst of a very bad season, Ten Hag was still able to guide MU to the FA Cup final, challenging Man City. Saturday 25 May 2024, the 2023/2024 FA Cup final will be played at Wembley Stadium, kick-off at 21.00 WIB.

The final will be Ten Hag’s second FA Cup final as MU coach. He guided MU to the final three times, including winning the Carabao Cup.
